The mission of the Towns County School System is to ensure that all students
achieve at their highest potential.
The mission of Towns County Elementary School is to nurture, guide, and challenge
all students in a safe environment so that they become lifelong learners,
creative problem solvers, and competent decision makers.
The success of Towns County High School graduates can be attributed to the
enormous amount of support the community exhibits for its students and
programs at the school. Towns County High School students continue to
score in the top 5 percent on state graduation tests, with overall student's
scores increasing with each graduation class.
Welcome to Young Harris College
Founded in 1886, Young Harris College is a private, United Methodist-affiliated
residential two-year liberal arts college located in the Appalachian mountains
of northern Georgia. With a 15:1 student to faculty ratio and an average
enrollment of 600 students, YHC combines a rigorous academic program with a
nurturing atmosphere. The campus offers a gymnasium, indoor swimming pool, six
tennis courts, large athletic fields, the third-largest planetarium in the state,
and the comforts of an up-to-date technologically advanced campus set amidst the
beautiful north Georgia mountains.
